About Wherever You’re Going
I wrote Wherever You're Going alongside Dave Baxter (Avalanche City). Dave created a loop around some chord ideas, and while he was putting it together, the whole chorus seemed to just fall out of the sky in about 5 seconds, which is always a super encouraging feeling when you are writing a song. At its heart, 'Wherever You're Going' is a song about trusting in something bigger than yourself. It feels like our current cultural moment is about being true to ourselves and following 'your' heart, but sometimes we need to push back on that and say it is ok to sacrifice things for those we care about, learn to compromise, and work together.

Breezy and upbeat with meaningful undertones sums up New Zealand artist Bluey Green, AKA Mitchell Horton. His music is a refreshing representation of that stylish-yet-substantial sweet spot. Warm and with a unique laid-back charm, it’s a genre-straddling blend of indie chill pop and surf rock, invoking sensations of the taste of sea spray, the shimmering of the sun on the waves, and those existential twilight thoughts that like to elbow their way in after dark. The music is a colorful journey of indie-pop sincerity featuring earnest vocals and musicianship from Horton. This summer/fall, he will release his second EP and first with the US label The Record Machine.
