Black Light Animals Bio

Black Light Animals are a psychedelic soul band based out of the midwest. Combining a love of soul music,  fuzzed out guitars, hip hop beats, and old Italian movie scores, the quintet released their debut record, “Playboys of the Western World” to critical acclaim in 2020 in the middle of a global pandemic. The album couldn’t have been more prescient, as it tackled themes of loneliness, isolation, and social media obsession soundtracked by an imaginary long lost Italian horror movie score. In 2025 they will release their sophomore album, “Last Call Love Songs” on The Record Machine.

About make u mine

An ode to 90s and 2000s R&B ala Brandy or Mariah Carey. ThIs is a song about and instant and palpable attraction to someone set to hard hitting hip hop drums, dreamy synths and rolling pianos, and psychedelic twinges of guitar. For those moments where you can’t explain why, but your palms are sweaty, and all of a sudden there’s a lump in your throat whenever you catch their eye from across the room.
