Bathe Alone to release double EP Fall With The Lights Down (Louise) & Fall With The Lights Down (Velma)

Atlanta dream pop artist Bathe Alone is excited to announce they will release their 2022 EP, Fall With The Lights Down (Louise), as a double EP with the addition of Fall With The Lights Down (Velma) on August 4th. The compilation is a sonic expression of nostalgic longing, with each part dedicated to one of multi-instrumentalist Bailey Crone’s great-grandmothers whom she never met and are pictured on the cover of their namesake EP. She explains, “I was browsing my dad's Facebook, and he had uploaded all of these family photos. She just looks super unhappy and out of context being on a boat. Then there’s another photo of the other great-grandma in a yellow vest with a picnic basket next to her. I thought these photos were so weird and powerful.” While Fall With The Lights Down’s imagery is primarily centered around Crone’s great-grandmothers, the project also considers the many ways we experience loss (which extends to the absence of a pet) and the good memories one makes while young that one will look back on forever. The double EP will be available as one album on vinyl through The Record Machine.

Tomorrow, they will share the blissful electronic pop single “In Your Wake,” which tackles taking control over one's future. Bailey adds, “Sometimes fate does what it wants, and you don't really have a say in it. This song is an internal discussion about trusting yourself and that you’re making all the right decisions for the future that you want. Sometimes when you're feeling like things are moving slow or you’re on the wrong path, you really just need to believe that you’re headed somewhere by your own design. ‘Wake’ is someone’s action, wrath, energy, and determination. It’s the breaking of fate and attempting to take control.”

Growing up with a formal background in classical music, Crone first burrowed her way into the Peach State's indie scene as a teenager. She picked up drums, guitar, and bass early on and sharpened her skills playing in various bands, including touring as the drummer for the buzzy Girlpuppy. Bathe Alone was founded on her skills as a drummer, with influences from punk to ambient guitar drenched in delay. The project kicked off when she started collaborating with producer Damon Moon (Curtis Harding, Lunar Vacation & more) at his iconic Atlanta studio, Standard Electric. Only one LP and EP in, she has already opened for artists like Beabadoobee and Neighbor Lady and has received praise from outlets like Under The Radar, Ones To Watch, and The Big Takeover.

Bathe Alone released their debut LP, Last Looks, in 2021 to praise from various outlets like Under The Radar, Atwood, We All Want Someone To Shout For, etc. “In Your Wake” follows the new indie rock single, “Awfully Quiet,” and the first half of the double EP, 2022’s Fall With The Lights Down (Louise).
