Life handed us lemons, so we made a Lemonade Social. In the wake of the pandemic, we missed throwing live events, so we partnered with the newly created Lemonade Park to celebrate all that is great about KC’s independent hometown spirit.

Outer Reaches is a music festival based in Kansas City that showcases the ‘out there’, left-of-center, under-the-radar artists experimenting within and pushing boundaries in their respective genres. Regional acts, as well as national and international touring acts, are a part of the festival’s spirit, celebrating the variety of experimental music around the globe. There has always been a strong tie to music that would fit into the realm of psychedelic music, but the festival has since opened up to more genres with a goal of promoting all music that is adventurous and mind-expanding.

Middle of the Map Fest was started in 2011 and ran between 2011 and 2019 (R.I.P) as a joint venture between The Record Machine and Kansas City Star. In the 9 years since, the festival grew to be an annual pop culture event with bands, films, and performers that we love, like Grizzly Bear, Iron and Wine, Fred Armisen, OK Go, Lord Huron, De La Soul, Talib Kweli, Vince Staples, Cold War Kids, Charles Bradley, Aimee Mann, Atmosphere, The Get Up Kids, Daniel Johnston, Kate Nash, and many more have shared the same stage as Record Machine artists.

SoundMachineKC was a concert series put on by The Record Machine and Tito’s Handmade Vodka from 2017 till 2020. The concerts took place at Kansas City’s recordBar and miniBar. The series focused on music discovery by highlighting bands from all around the world, covering a wide range of genres. The series aims to discover music and expose Kansas City to new music while connecting with the local and national music community.
